Proctor Public Schools & Aspirus St. Luke's Celebrate Grand Opening of Aspirus St. Luke's Sports & Event Center
Proctor Publics Schools and St. Luke’s celebrated the grand opening of St. Luke’s Sports & Event Center Wednesday, October 10. St. Luke’s partnered with Proctor Public Schools to name their new sports and event center in a 10-year agreement. In addition, Aspirus St. Luke's is providing Proctor Public Schools with athletic training to help keep student athletes injury-free. St. Luke’s is also overseeing the St. Luke’s Proctor Fitness Center to foster health and wellness in the community overall.
St. Luke’s Sports & Event Center is a 44,000 square-foot facility that houses an ice rink with seating for 1,200 plus standing room for 500 more people, a walking track, and a community room for gatherings of up to 150 people. Located at 704 Kirkus Street, the new arena will be home to the Proctor Rails boys’ hockey team, the combined Proctor/Hermantown Mirage girls’ hockey team, and the Proctor Amateur Hockey Association. The venue will also host community events.

Proctor’s Superintendent of Schools John Engelking added, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to start using this great new sports and event center. We’re equally as excited to be partnering with St. Luke’s. Together we can offer a lot of important services to our community.”
The girls’ high school hockey team will be the first team to host a game in the new venue. They will play South St. Paul on Friday, November 9 at 7 p.m. The boys’ high school hockey team will have their first game on Saturday, November 24 at noon. They’ll play Moose Lake.
