Even though summer is just starting, fall will be here before we know it. So, now is the time to get your family prepared! Providers at St. Luke’s primary care clinics are ready to give your child the physical they need to go back to school or participate in their favorite sports.
Here are three reasons to schedule your child’s physical for early summer.
- Avoid the end-of-summer rush.
August and September are busy months for anyone with kiddos. There are always supplies to buy, new schedules to be worked out, and plenty of other back-to-school tasks to be completed. Finding time in the rush to schedule another appointment just adds to the stress. So, do yourself a favor and get it out of the way early! Come fall, you’ll be happy to have one less thing on your to-do list.
- Address health issues early.
The goal of having a sports physical is to identify and address any potential health issues a student athlete has. By scheduling their physical months before their sport begins, you’ll have ample time to address any health issues long before they’re back out on the field.
- Stay up-to-date on immunizations.
When your child comes in for their physical, it’s also a great opportunity for them to receive any routine immunizations they may need, including the HPV vaccine. Aspirus St. Luke's also has COVID-19 vaccines available for anyone 5+ and booster shots available for anyone 12+. To review the immunization requirements from the CDC, see this chart.
We hope your child is looking forward to a safe and fun school year! To schedule an appointment, find the St. Luke’s clinic that’s closest to you or call 218.249.4000.
