Philosophy of care
I believe that it's my job to support patients in making good lifestyle and personal choices so that they can live an overall healthy life. Most people have been given the gift of health. Those who have not need more medical care to achieve the same goals. Many chronic illnesses can be treated with lifestyle changes and I can help support some of those changes.
Favorite advice to give to patients
Exercise actually does very little to help you lose weight. When you exercise more you actually can be hungrier. You need to combine exercise and diet together in order to reduce overall weight and be healthier. It takes fairly little time and effort to reduce your overall calorie intake and that can result in very big changes. Excuses and stress in your life will always be there. It's important to find a way to live a healthy lifestyle in spite of them.
