Philosophy of care
I strongly believe that everyone deserves to have the best quality of life possible! Not only do I want to help someone accomplish their daily activities, but I also want to help them gain confidence in their abilities through meaningful interventions to help assert their own independence. I believe in providing holistic and patient-centered care to meet individual needs and to show people what they are truly capable of accomplishing.
Why Jamie went into medicine
After taking an introductory psychology course in high school, I learned that I was especially captivated with the plasticity of the developing brain and how it affects human behavior. Therefore, I decided to major in child psychology in my undergraduate career. I find it fascinating how children are so capable of bouncing back from certain experiences and how they can adapt so quickly to new situations. I enjoy how children seem to emanate a sense of purity and innocence. It’s inspiring to see how motivated and driven kids can be. Then, I learned about the role of an occupational therapist and fell in love with the hands-on and patient-centered approach, as well as the vastness in the scope of practice.

Hobbies
During my time free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and our dog. We love to go hiking, relax at our cabin and watching hockey games. I also love being surrounded with my friends and family.
