Philosophy of care
I like to take a practical approach to patient-centered, evidence-based medicine. I aim to meet people wherever they’re at and find the right treatment together. Goals of care are different for each patient, but usually less is more and quality of life is paramount.
Why Dr. McKinnon went into medicine
I have always been interested in caring for others and the basic sciences. Serving as a family medicine physician incorporated both of these passions.
Favorite advice to give patients
I like to encourage people to be tenacious and applaud their good attitudes. No matter what challenges my patients face, those with a positive attitude seem to be much better off.
