Medical Weight Loss
Safe, balanced and personalized approaches to weight loss
Weight loss and management are never easy. We understand that each person comes with individual concerns, needs and situations.
What is medical weight loss?
Medical weight loss is a safe, balanced, medically supervised approach to weight loss and weight management. This approach mainly uses diet and exercise, but drug therapy can be incorporated as well.
Our specially trained doctors and staff work one-on-one with people who would like to learn how to lose or manage their weight.
How can a doctor help me lose weight?
Working with a specially trained doctor can help you find out what works best for your body. There is no “one-size-fits-all” weight loss approach or diet. That’s why personalization is an important part to an effective weight loss program. Different body types respond to exercise and nutrition in varying ways, and every plan should be customized to meet the unique needs of the individual.

Is weight loss surgery an option?
No, weight loss surgery is not offered at Aspirus St. Luke's. We encourage patients to explore nonsurgical weight loss options before considering surgery. While it can be helpful for people who are facing serious health risks from obesity, it is not a decision to be made lightly. Many patients can achieve healthy weight loss with lifestyle and diet changes.
