Immunotherapy: An Innovative Approach to Fighting Cancer
About This Event
Learn how this evolving, cutting-edge therapy for cancer treatment harnesses the power of your body’s immune system to fight cancer. Called immunotherapy, this treatment has been successful against many forms of cancer, including some difficult-to-treat cancers like skin, lung, and certain types of lymphomas and breast cancers. Plus, immunotherapy tends to produce less-severe side effects than chemotherapy.
St. Luke’s Hematologist & Oncologist Dr. Roberto Fernandez will discuss how immunotherapy has been developed, and how it’s used instead of, or in combination with, chemotherapy. He’ll also share some success stories and what’s ahead for this important treatment.
Event made possible through the generous support of the Aspirus St. Luke's Foundation.
