Aspirus St. Luke's Celebrates New Chequamegon Clinic Site with Ribbon Cutting
St. Luke’s celebrated the opening of its new Chequamegon Clinic building with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Wednesday, April 25. Many community members and leaders attended, including Ashland’s mayor, members of the planning commission and Chamber of Commerce.
The $7 million, 22,000-square-foot clinic sits near the shores of Lake Superior along the north side of U.S. Highway 2 between Culver’s and the Ashland Honda Toyota dealership. The clinic design maximizes views of the lake from roadways and public spaces and features lakefront views throughout the building. DSGW Architects designed the clinic which was built by Kraus-Anderson with the help of local contractors. Chequamegon Clinic has been serving patients in the community since 1975.
“We’re pleased to offer our patients this serene healing environment beside Lake Superior,” St. Luke’s President and CEO John Strange said. “When building this clinic, it gave us the opportunity to modernize how we provide patients with exceptional care in a way that best serves the community.”
The clinic gives patients a state-of-the-art experience. Currently the clinic is staffed with eight primary care providers, but the new clinic provides enough space for growth up to 12. For the first time the clinic will also offer physical therapy services and 3D mammography. St. Luke’s Chequamegon Clinic will continue to offer 17 outreach specialty services at its new location, which include cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics and sports medicine, urology, endocrinology, rheumatology, neurology, physical medicine, pulmonology, general surgery and vascular surgery.
