Aspirus St. Luke's Earns Quality Management Certification from World-Leading Healthcare Organization
St. Luke’s has been awarded full certification to ISO 9001 Quality Management System by DNV GL Healthcare, a world-leading, Medicare-certified hospital accreditation organization.
DNV GL’s innovative program integrates ISO 9001 compliance with the Medicare Conditions of Participation, which are federal regulations healthcare organizations must meet in order to participate in Medicare programs.
ISO 9001 is the most widely-accepted quality management system in use around the world. It brings science to the art of caregiving by standardizing processes around things that are proven to work, by the people doing the work. This empowers frontline workers. The ultimate impact of ISO within hospitals is the reduction or elimination of variation, so that critical work processes are done consistently and the “best ideas” widely shared and ingrained in the organization itself.
“St. Luke’s chooses to work with DNV GL because of our shared commitment to safety and process improvement. We are dedicated to providing the safest and most effective healthcare services possible,” St. Luke’s President and CEO Kevin Nokels said. “ISO certification reflects our Mission and provides the system to empower it. The certificate is more than just a piece of paper, as the effort required to achieve certification fundamentally transforms the way we do work.”
