Aspirus St. Luke's Achieves Primary Stroke Center Recertification
St. Luke’s Stroke Center is proud to be re-certified by DNV as a Primary Stroke Center, affirming St. Luke’s readiness to handle a full range of stroke-related medical problems.
“This re-certification shows our commitment to deliver high-quality stroke care,” St. Luke’s Stroke Center Coordinator Diane Roach said. “Our team’s expertise allows us to quickly assess and treat strokes to provide the best possible outcomes. Achieving this re-certification reflects their commitment to excellence.”
The DNV Primary Stroke Center Certification is based on the standards set by the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association. It demonstrates that medical centers address the full spectrum of stroke care – diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and education – and establishes clear metrics to evaluate outcomes.
According to the American Stroke Association, stroke is the number two cause of death worldwide and a leading cause of serious, long-term disability. To learn more about St. Luke’s stroke care visit slhduluth.com/stroke.
