Aspirus St. Luke’s Celebrates Opening of Medical District’s New Parking Ramp
Aspirus St. Luke’s celebrated the opening of the new Medical District East Parking Ramp that is owned and operated by the City of Duluth.
The $14 million ramp provides 330 parking spaces for Aspirus St. Luke’s patients, visitors and staff. It’s also open to the public. State funding and a partnership with the City of Duluth made the three-level ramp a reality.
“We deeply value the support from our local and state government leaders,” Aspirus St. Luke’s Minnesota Region President Dr. Nick Van Deelen said. “Their investment in our campus and the medical district is a testament to their commitment to our shared future.”
Mayor Roger Reinert also highlighted the importance of the new facility. “This new ramp is an example of the benefit of public and community partnerships. This project supports economic development in this area, the medical district and improves our commercial tax base.”
Erdman served as architect and contractor on the project, which required 362 truckloads of cement. The ramp is operated by Interstate Parking. It features a gateless entry system with payment options via an app or a kiosk near the door.
