Aspirus St. Luke’s Earns Third Consecutive Perfect Score for Breastfeeding Practices
Aspirus St. Luke’s is proud to announce its achievement of a perfect score on the 2024 CDC Maternity Practices in Infant Nutrition and Care (mPINC) Survey. This recognition underscores the hospital’s unwavering commitment to supporting optimal breastfeeding practices for mothers and infants.
The mPINC survey is a national benchmark that evaluates newborn feeding practices at hospitals providing maternity services. With an average score of 82 across the United States, Aspirus St. Luke’s exceptional 100 score highlights the hospital’s leadership in promoting maternal and infant health.
“Breastfeeding is important to the health of both the mother and the baby, and we want to ensure the best possible outcomes,” said Stephanie Forslund, Aspirus St. Luke’s Maternal Child Health Manager.
Aspirus St. Luke’s team focuses on evidence-based practices to create an environment where breastfeeding is encouraged and supported. This includes personalized care plans, education for new parents, and resources to help mothers overcome common breastfeeding challenges.
“Breastfeeding provides essential nutrients for the baby, supports a baby’s development, protects them against diseases, and can reduce the risk of certain cancers and diabetes for the mother. That’s why our team is so committed to delivering the highest quality of care,” Forslund added.
This marks the third consecutive time Aspirus St. Luke’s has achieved a perfect score, reinforcing its position as a trusted leader in maternal and child health. The consistent recognition highlights the dedication of the hospital’s staff to ensuring mothers and newborns have the best possible start.
