Aspirus St. Luke’s is honored to be ranked as a high performing hospital for maternity care by U.S. News & World Report for 2025. It is the highest award a hospital can earn as part of the annual maternity care study, and Aspirus St. Luke’s is the only hospital in the Northland to achieve this honor. Only four hospitals in the state earned this distinction.

The award recognizes that Aspirus St. Luke’s provides exceptional care for expecting parents. Hospitals earning the achievement demonstrate significantly lower C-section rates and severe unexpected newborn complications compared to hospitals not recognized by U.S. News & World Report.

“We achieve milestones like this because of the expertise and dedication of our incredible staff and providers and the personalized care they offer every day,” Aspirus St. Luke’s Director of Women’s & Children’s Services Lori Swanson said. “This recognition is not just an award; it is a testament to our pride in serving our patients and our commitment to delivering the highest quality of care.”

Methodology for the rankings is based entirely on objective quality measures including birthing-friendly practices, transparency on racial/ethnic disparities, and exclusive breast milk feeding rates. U.S. News & World Report evaluated 817 hospitals from across the United States. Only half of all hospitals evaluated for 2025 ratings have earned recognition for best hospitals for maternity care.

Aspirus St. Luke’s is proud to offer an expanded team of OB-GYNs and a Birthing Center with services that include:

  • Urogynecology
  • Reproductive health
  • Maternal fetal medicine consults.
  • High- and low-risk pregnancy care
  • Infertility support
  • Infant feeding rooms
  • Subsidized doula
  • Deep labor tubs
  • Private rooms
