Philosophy of care
I believe in taking a person-centered approach when it comes to providing care. Everyone is slightly different in their own unique way, so I strive to really listen to my patients and look beyond the various numbers and lab values because that does not always accurately relay how someone truly feels.
Why Jack went into medicine
I chose to pursue a career in medicine because I have always had a deep interest in the sciences such as biology and anatomy. I also wanted to make a significant impact in people's lives. My goal as a clinician is to help my patients live not just a longer life but also a healthier and happier life. Medicine allows me to incorporate my appreciation for science with my passion to help others as I connect with my patients.
Favorite advice to give to patients
The improvement of your health or the management of a disease is often a marathon, not a sprint, so try not to be discouraged when positive results are hard to come by. I am here to work with you and support you throughout the process.
Hobbies
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and my dog, Freddie. You may see me in Duluth or along the North Shore hiking or camping in one of our many pristine parks, paddle boarding along the shores of Lake Superior, or watching birds through my trusty binoculars.
