Philosophy of care
Everyone has a unique story. It’s incredibly important to take that into consideration when finding what truly motivates someone in order to reach their full therapeutic potential. Taking a little extra time to listen and gain awareness of what defines each person can greatly improve motivation, safety, confidence and independence when regaining the ability to participate in activities that provide a sense of purpose and quality of life.
Why Laura went into medicine
I love seeing people succeed and progress. The feeling of making even the smallest difference in someone’s life is indescribable. Being an occupational therapist provides me with the opportunity to use my positive nature, experience and skills to encourage and support patients, caregivers, and family members as they progress towards participation in activities that provide their life with purpose and meaning.
Favorite advice to give patients
Progress isn't always going to be linear because we're humans! Noticing the small successes and giving yourself credit for those wins is pivotal in maintaining motivation through the highs and lows of recovery.

Hobbies
I love anything that gets me outside! Hiking, biking, skiing, paddling, camping, painting, spending quality time with family and friends, spoiling my dogs and cat, traveling, and buying way too many house plants.
