Hobbies
Dr. Horning is interested in international medicine, global health and working to address health disparities. In 2012, he spent a few months working for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in a refugee camp in Yida, South Sudan.
Dr. Horning is also interested in climate change adaptation and the effects of climate change on health. He is an amateur forager, musician, community organizer, and writer; and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Passionate about healthcare reform, public health, and community strength and resilience, Dr. Horning currently serves on the Ashland County Health and Human Services Board. Dr. Horning is also a member of the City of Ashland Police and Fire Commission, the Ashland/Bayfield County Chapter of the Wisconsin Farmers Union, the Chequamegon Archery Club, Physicians for a National Health Plan, Health Professionals for a Healthy Climate, and Wisconsin Health Professionals for Climate Action.
