Getting ready for your colonoscopy

Expect a phone call 7 to 10 days prior to your scheduled colonoscopy from the preadmission department. They will review your health history and medications, and ensure you understand your bowel prep instructions. If your bowel prep requires a prescription, your preadmission nurse will send it to your preferred pharmacy.

It is vital to follow the exact directions in order to fully cleanse your colon for the exam. If you don't, your colonoscopy may have to be cancelled or repeated.
