Aspirus St. Luke's
An integrated non-profit health care organization
After affiliating with Aspirus on March 1, 2024, we are proud to officially
be rebranded as Aspirus St. Luke's.
Our combined organization operates 18 hospitals and 130 outpatient locations
with nearly 14,000 team members, including 1,300 employed physicians and
advanced practice clinicians.
Learn More About Aspirus Health
As part of Aspirus Health, we have access to expanded resources and support.
This advances the level of care we offer and further enhances health care
in our region, which helps build thriving communities.
We will continue to grow and transform to provide excellent, compassionate
care to meet the changing needs of the people we serve.
What does this mean for patients? ▼
The day-to-day experience for patients will be unchanged. You may continue
seeing your same provider to receive the top-quality, compassionate care
you have come to know and expect. All locations and phone numbers will
remain the same and the same insurance will be accepted.
Are any locations closing? ▼
No. The purpose of the affiliation is growth. Aspirus St. Luke's
intends to grow our workforce, with an emphasis on clinical roles.
What are the new clinic names? ▼
Why did this affiliation happen? ▼
As Aspirus St. Luke's, we are stronger. This affiliation will allow
us to keep growing and offering important services to our communities,
including rural areas. Aspirus also plans to invest $300 million into
projects for Aspirus St. Luke's over eight years. Together, we will
add new systems like the Epic electronic health record to improve integration
and efficiency. Aspirus Health Plan will be extended into the Aspirus
Aspirus St. Luke's area, helping make sure everyone gets the care they need
at the right cost. And Aspirus will keep supporting medical education
in our area. That includes the program we currently have with the University
of Minnesota Medical School in Duluth.
What was the process of the affiliation? ▼
After announcing a letter of intent to affiliate in July 2023, we worked
diligently to combine our organizations. We signed a definitive agreement,
completed due diligence and participated in a public forum with Minnesota
Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office in Duluth in the fall of 2023.
Is this affiliation good for the community? ▼
Is this affiliation good for the community? Yes. Joining Aspirus adds value
for our patients, our staff and our broader network, and strengthens the
care and services people can count on for generations to come. Aspirus
Aspirus St. Luke's will be more sustainable long term, maintain competitive
offerings for our communities and expand our impact. This affiliation
allows us to grow while managing the cost of care and advancing quality
and patient experience.
How will this impact Aspirus St. Luke's Foundation? ▼
Aspirus St. Luke's Foundation will not change. Funds will always be used
as designated by donors.
We look forward to a bright future for our combined organization and the
communities we serve.
